About Melissa

I love education and wellness, and I believe these aspects of life are important to instill early on. I want to provide a positive space for children to be engaged in hobbies, free from screens, to ensure kids can appreciate the beauty of boredom which generates creativity. I babysat as a teenager, and I volunteered consistently at my church growing up. I transitioned to working with elderly patients, and have since been working as a hospice volunteer. I like to garden and play with my kittens. I love hobbies you can lose yourself in, and I think helping kids appreciate these values away from screens is vital for healthy cognitive and emotional development. One thing you should know about me is I am a PhD student at UF pursuing a career as a medical doctor. I am perceptive when it comes to safety, as you must be in a laboratory. Additionally, I earned my Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance at UF, and I am happy to offer piano lessons as well.
