Hello families! I am 51 years old. I have been working with special needs children and adults for 38 years. I've been running a nanny share for the last 7 years, working with two families and up to 4 children at a time. I suffered an injury in February that has left me unable to carry the little ones, but I am otherwise fully physically able to provide care. So, I'm looking to work primarily with adults with disabilities. I've always loved being a care provider. It brings me a lot of joy and fulfillment! I have focused my educational opportunities on learning about people with special needs and expanding my knowledge of best behavioral guidance practices. I've worked primarily with people with Autism but I also have experience with Cerebral Palsy, Downs Syndrome, ADHD, Motor Processing, Sensory Issues and physical delays. My style of care is loving and confident. I always have a wonderful time with the people in my care!

Melissa has been sitting for our kids for about a year an we are so grateful we found her! We have two boys age 3 and 4 and they both have special needs. One is on the spectrum and the other has sensory and emotional stuff. They can be a handful, to say the least, and they both love Melissa and have so much fun with her. She's so great at staying calm and helping the boys work through their tantrums. She's also great at reinforcing the recommendations of their therapist and coming up with some of her own ways to deal with their behavior. We would definitely recommend Melissa to anyone whose kids need some extra attention and patience!
