I have worked professionally with children for 8 years and I specialize in children with special needs. I worked with a special needs child for 6 years before becoming employed as a Board Certified Autism Technician at a local Autism center, which is where I currently work. I'm looking to supplement my income through care. com by working with families in need of specialized care. I am trained professionally in behavior and crisis management. I use de-escalation techniques to manage challenging behavior, from the mild to severe behaviors. I like to spend time building rapport with the child and once I've gotten to know them and their interests or limitations, I provide patient and professional care and enjoy a setting where I can fully engage in activity with kids. Children in my care always have my complete attention. I am comfortable with meal prep, basic needs, diapering, tutoring and arts and crafts. Some light housekeeping support is ok.
