About Melissa

I come from a large family, and have always loved children! I was a nanny for several years, and have experience with children in all age ranges. I licensed parents for therapeutic foster care, so I am well-versed in trauma-informed care and medication/behavioral management. I believe children should be heard, treated with autonomy and compassion, and have FUN! Instilling good manners, routines, and stability is paramount to ensuring a healthy and happy childhood. Going outdoors, having a social life, educational play, and arts and crafts are all things that I incorporate into my childcare style, no matter the age. I own and operate a micro-bakery, and I love being in the kitchen! I have experience providing allergy-friendly and special diet foods that kids love. I have an expansive, culturally appropriate palate, and I love introducing others to world flavors. Overall, I believe in silly fun, learning, and spending time constructively.
