I started working with kids when I was 16 and a neighbor just moved in with a 2-year-old and 4-year-old! I babysat and watched their kids for most of the summer and on evenings when I was in school. Currently, I nanny an infant. I was a teacher in Chesterfield and I taught third grade for 2 years. Prior to teaching, I worked at a daycare while acquiring my masters degree at JMU for education. I have experience from newborn- elementary age, and I prefer infant age level but love all age groups! In my spare time, I like to spend time outside or near the water- I used to live in Virginia Beach! I love reading too and would enjoy reading with your children!

Melissa has been a great nanny to our son for the past year. She has cared for him throughout the day (bottles, naps, diapers, lunch, playtime, and walks), keeping him on a routine, but adjusting as he's grown from a 3-month-old baby to a toddler. She is very attentive and always willing to make changes or try new things with him. We both mostly work from home, and she is always polite, courteous, and respectful of our home. When separation anxiety started, she was great at helping him adjust, and she has continued to help with his big feelings when he sees us at home throughout the day. Our son will be joining our oldest at daycare, but we'll continue to use Melissa as a babysitter for as long as she's available. We highly recommend her as a nanny or a babysitter!
