About Melissa

My name is Melissa. I'm a wife and mother. I just love interacting with and caring for seniors. I have spent the larger portion of my career in education; however, during the pandemic, I took a job as an Activities Assistant in a nursing home and discovered a love for senior/elder care. A year later, I became my father-in-law's caregiver while he recovered from a major heart attack. Overall, I have found working with seniors to be very rewarding. Along with some personal care, I am very comfortable performing light housekeeping duties, such as cooking, running errands and transportation to and from local appointments. In addition, I love to spend quality time with seniors, talking, doing puzzles, reading aloud, assisting with writing letters, walking outdoors, and other companionable activities. I am a huge animal lover, so am extremely comfortable with pets. I am very patient, kind, honest, optimistic and friendly. It's important to me that my care recipients feel safe in my care.
