About Melinda

Hi! I'm a mother to two girls, one 12-year-old and one 16-year-old. It's hard to describe my parenting/baby-sitting style in 1, 000 characters, but I'll tell you what is important to me. My children are happy and well adjusted. When they were little, we didn't rely on electronics and now, when they walk into the room, I close my laptop and give them my undivided attention. When they were little, we played outside, went for walks, made up stories, danced and listened to music, built forts, read books, and made art projects. I didn't let my kids cry for more than a few minutes without comforting them. I use positive redirection, explain situations, and teach empathy and compassion. When I've watched children, I have take photos and sent them to their parents so they see what their little one is up to. I love children and would be happy to watch your child on a permanent basis. Ideally, my best match is a K-12 grade teacher who wants coverage during the school year.
