About Melinda

I have worked with kids almost my entire life, beginning with babysitting at age 12. I was a 4-H leader for about 12 years, specializing in horse and pony club. I went back to school in my 40s and became an elementary teacher, with an emphasis on reading and language arts. I taught various grade levels, but primarily 5th grade. I continue to substitute teach after my retirement. I enjoy children, and love sharing my time and knowledge with them. I am calm, good humored, and kids generally respond very well to me. I love animals, am a good cook, and read a lot in my spare time. Although, at 71, I am definitely in the grandmother category, I am very active and have no trouble working full time and performing various reasonable duties.
