I began my successful career in the field of Early Childhood Education back in the 1980's. Since that time I have had been fortunate enough to care for children in a variety of child care settings. I have cared for children whose ages range from three months to 16 years. I decided to become a nanny back in 2003 when I realized while babysitting for a family that the care provided to children as a nanny exceeds the care provided to them in professional settings because of the caregiver-to-child ratio. My specialty is caring for children that are within the age range of birth to five years. This is not only because of my specialized degree, but because of the many years of experience caring for children within that age range. My experience also includes caring for children with special needs. I have also had the honor of going into many peoples homes to care for their children on an on-call basis. The care I provide to children includes supporting the development of each child physically, emotionally, socially, and intellectually. My child care philosophy focuses on providing children with choices and allowing them to learn and grow from their choices, while providing clear and consistent boundaries within those choices. When I care for babies, I follow their lead and try to enter into their world, instead of trying to get them to conform to mine. I enjoy providing all children with open-ended activities that nurtures their creativity and builds their self-esteem.
