About Melanie

I'm a caring, patient, and dependable mother of three daughters who has always had a special place in my heart for older adults. Now that I'm a new empty nester, I'm excited to spend more of my time doing something that has been meaningful throughout my life--caring for and helping others. I cared for my grandmother, who had Alzheimer's, for nearly 10 years, and I also helped care for my mother during the final stage of her life. Those experiences taught me the importance of patience, compassion, dignity, and simply being present for someone. I have also volunteered with Shepherd's Center, helping seniors with grocery shopping, errands, transportation, and companionship, and I have previously worked with a family assisting their elderly parents.
