About Mei Shan

I am a passionate educator and aspiring leader with a strong foundation in working with children and youth. Through my volunteer work with the nonprofit organization Fun Fun Saturday, I have taught creative writing and cursive to young learners, helping them develop both academic and artistic skills. As a counselor at the YMCA afterschool program, I've further honed my ability to connect with students, manage classroom dynamics, and support diverse learning needs. Fluent in Mandarin Chinese, I bring a valuable multicultural perspective and can incorporate language learning into interactive and inclusive teaching environments. I am currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Forensic Science at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, where I continue to develop strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills that complement my passion for education.
