I know the frustrations of not being heard as a child, and it is for that very reason I want to work for you. I believe that every child's voice should be heard. Sometimes I think the best way to do that is in small groups, preferably one-on-one learning environments. It is in these conversations and intimate settings that their voices and opinions can be communicated whether that is verbal or non-verbal. I have cared for a child with down syndrome, and have some experience as a Registered Behavior Technician implementing ABA therapy to kiddos with autism. During my time as a nanny for a child with down syndrome, I grew so much in my capacity to love and to accept people where they are. Caring for this child allowed my creativity, imagination, and wonder to flourish and develop. Each child has their own temperament and personality, and once I was able to discover many of his quirks, we were able to thrive. I would often find myself thinking in new and better ways.
