I have experience working with ADHD and dyslexia, and I love finding fresh, out-of-the-box methods to explain concepts that have grown stale with repetition. Fractions on paper just gibberish? Let's go outside and shoot baskets. Suddenly it's a game - You made 12 out of 15 shots that time, so is that more or less than your 2/3 average? You've gotten 4 out of the last 5 shots. What percentage is that? I love to utilize the student's interests to explain a less-captivating topic. I am passionate about teaching in general and homeschooling in particular, and I get more excited than the student when what was muddy and frustrating becomes clear and simple.
