I worked at CDC resources in Monticello, IN for 4 years before getting my medical assistant certificate. I was also a house manager for Peak Community in Logansport, IN. The pay was salary and I had a lot of my staff call off last minute or not even show up at all, which put me in a difficult situation but I do have that management experience along with the direct support professional experience. I am familiar with different behaviors and I honestly feel like Ive experienced all. I love the jobs I had and I loved making a difference in their lives on a daily basis. From special Olympics to assisting with simple skills as in cooking. I also cared for 3 seniors privately in the last 5 years. I had my cnas but let them go because working in a nursing home was not for me. I enjoyed working with the elderly but we were always short staff and not treated very well. I am home health aide cerified and prefer to do home health care over a facility.
