About Megan

I began baby-sitting at the age of 12 and continued throughout high school and college, while also counseling at a day camp during summers. I have been a nanny and tutor for the last 13 yrs, 7 1/2 of which I spent with two wonderful children from infancy until they were 7 and 2. I then spent 2 1/2 years in a nanny share situation caring for 4 energetic boys aged 8, 7, 4 and 1. Since moving to northwest Ohio, I have worked with two families, one with two girls, aged 7 and 2, and most recently with an infant, beginning when he was 3 mos. I have experience with children of all age groups as well as those with special needs (ASD and ADHD in particular). My major is in Sociology, minor in Psych, with a background in Language and Art, and have also been trained in CPR and First Aid. I seek above all else to maintain children's health and safety and to establish deep relationships with my charges as I feel that a sense of trust and reliability is key to their ability to flourish.

It is always difficult to invite someone new into your home and trust them with the care of your children, but Megan became a part of our family very quickly. She cares for our two boys, age 8 and 4, and has been with us for almost three years. When Megan comes to work each morning, she isn't just here to keep the boys out of trouble, she comes with a plan to keep them engaged and teach them things. She find creative ways to support what they learn in school, but doing Star Wars Math or telling Sports Team Stories. She brings along her personal art supplies, games, or videos for special days with the kids. And she teaches respect and manners throughout the day. Anyone in need of trustworthy and loving childcare for their children should consider welcoming Megan into their family.
