About Megan

I have been a nanny now on and off for 20 years and before that baby sat and volunteered in all different kinds of childcare settings. I started baby sitting at the age of 12 and baby sat until I became a nanny at age 20. I studied early childhood development while attending Portland Community College, and than went to Northwest Nannies Institute where I graduated in 2014 as a professional nanny. I'm a mix of hands on when needed and than also hands off to allow self exploration and discovery. I don't believe in any kind of physical punishment ever, and try my best to redirect instead of shaming or punishing a child. When redirection hasn't worked I like to use a time out break to allow the child time to cool down and collect themselves, before we talk about ways we can handle situations better in the feature.
