About Mckenna

Hi! I am a current freelance writer with extensive experience in child care and education. I have recently relocated from Milwaukee from D. C., where I worked as a middle school media assistant and para-educator. While my areas of expertise are English, History and Creative Writing, I have also been assigned to manage students with special needs and IEPs, meaning I have tutored all subjects on the middle grade level. I have also helped students with essay help/editing, organization & time management and advocating for school support. I am a firm believer in positive reinforcement, fostering strong student relationships and adaptive learning strategies. I also have over six years of experience as a swim instructor and lifeguard, meaning I am Red Cross WSI/Lifeguard, first aid and AED certified.
