About Mayela

Mayela cared for my mother for the last two years of her life and was FANTASTIC. My mother was a very stubborn person, and was reluctant to accept any caregiver at first. But Mayela was able to gain her acceptance by being so patient and kind, and eventually my mom relied on her for everything -- transportation, meals, keeping track of doctors' appointments and medications, and eventually total care when she was bedridden at the end. The most important thing that Mayela did was to keep my mom physically active after hospitalizations, ensuring that she was able to get out of bed and go outside as much as possible. Mayela is very active herself and did not let my mom sit around when she could help it! Without Mayela, we would have had to put my mom in a facility, which was not her wish. We feel so, so lucky to have had her in our lives.
