About Maya

I enjoy working with kids because I love observing things through their eyes (curiosity), witnessing their developmental growth, and making a meaningful impact. I'm looking for a job that is flexible (with my availability), a safe and nurturing atmosphere, engaging activities, and strong parent communication. I started working with kids when I was in high school as a tutor and a peer tutor and in my career I have continued to work with middle school, high, school, and college aged kids. In my personal life I have babysat my nieces, children of close friends, and our goddaughter and I have really cherished those bonding moments and sharing new memories. In my spare time, I like to garden, hike, practice yoga, go camping, and check out new brunch spots with my husband and father who lives with us. One thing you should know about me is I am very dependable. My skills include excellent communication, patience and emotional control, and safety.
