About Maya

Helloo my name is Maya I am a college student studying law. I value helping single parents and families who need an extra hand. I like working with kids because I love being able to lend a hand to parents who need it and give attention where it is needed. I'm looking for a job that allows me to create connections and teaches me important lessons like discipline , patience and integrity. I started working with kids when I was 16. My aunt died and I had to take care of my cousins as well as go to school. While it seems like a bad situation I enjoyed being able to help my family and give attention to my little cousins that they lost. I learned important skills and how grief can impact children and families. One thing is that I ask many questions and like every task to be very clear. I am always asking for clarification and pay lots of attention to detail. My skills include homework help/ tutoring, talkative and engaging, and deescalation.
