About Maya

I'm best described as patient, kind-hearted, and gentle-spirited by those closest to me, and approachable and welcoming to those I am just meeting. I love to read and write, do puzzles, play board games, cook, hike, bike, and watch documentaries. I like working with kids because they are the next generation. How kids are nurtured, treated, and recognized plays a big role in their happiness and success. I started babysitting in 8th grade for my neighbor. I fed, entertained, and tutored her two daughters while she was at work. Although I do not have much experience working with kids, I am a quick study, reliable, and a critical thinker. I am also CPR certified and first-aid trained, specifically in choking and bleeding. My schedule is very flexible, and I'm happy to accommodate the family's needs and wishes. I also love animals, and I'm very happy to care for families with any pets (even reptiles and most bugs)!
