About Maya

Hi! My name is Maya, and I recently graduated with degrees in Music Education and Flute Performance. I am a certified Texas Teacher for ages Pre-K through 12th grade. During my studies, I have worked with classes of 30+ elementary littles all the way up to a 300+ high school band. I absolutely adore being able to work with kids and students of all different developmental stages. I love learning, which is why I went into education, and I aspire to have the same influence on kids that my teachers did on me- providing a safe space for all types of learning, mistakes, and creative processes. I am seeking employment while I am applying to graduate school for my Master's degree in Flute Performance. I have been playing for 11 years, starting in 6th grade. I grew up playing all different kinds of sports, dance, etc. I also have 2 cats, I crochet, and I love to be outside!
