About Maya

Hello! My name is Maya, and I'm currently a social work student at Wayne State University with a passion for working with children and promoting positive growth and development! I have worked as a behavior technician with children with disabilities for about a year, gaining valuable experience in child development, behavior management, and supporting children with different needs. I also worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor for four years, teaching children of various ages. I am CPR certified and very comfortable supervising children around water. Additionally, I have intermediate Spanish proficiency, a continued study of mine. I would describe myself as patient, energetic, compassionate, and creative. I love creating a fun, safe, and supportive environment where children can learn, grow, and be themselves! I hope to become a school social worker in the future and would love the opportunity to get to know your family!
