About Maya

Unlocking a student's unique potential is at the heart of my teaching practice. With a college degree and a year of dedicated experience, I specialize in supporting elementary students across subjects ranging from math and science to the arts. I believe that fostering a love for learning is just as important as academic mastery. By observing how you interact with new material, I tailor my approach using visual aids, hands-on activities, and real-world examples to make complex concepts feel manageable. I prioritize open communication with families to ensure we are a collaborative team. There is nothing more rewarding than witnessing that "aha!" moment when a student masters a new skill and their confidence begins to soar. Whether we meet at your home, a library, or online, I look forward to helping you grow and succeed in a way that feels personal and encouraging.
