About Maya

My childcare experience includes both working as a nanny and a preschool teacher. When watching children in any capacity, I'm an interactive caretaker, striving to engage the imagination and promote the value of self-expression through crafting, games, exploring the outdoors, healthy conflict resolution, reading, and engaging with a child's interests. I have worked with children between the ages of 6 mo and 13 yo. With younger children, I have experience with baby sign language, bottle feeding, tummy time, transitioning to solid foods. With older children, my experience includes, picking them from school, preparing dinner, and spending the evening either helping the children with their studies or playing games/crafting. Additionally, I am comfortable with driving children to adventure spots and after-school activities. Lastly, this work is collaborative, and I love working with primary caregivers and children to learn about the culture of their family to ensure consistency in care.
