Hi, My name is Maria Yanez. I have been a caregiver for more than 10 years and recently obtained my CNA certification under the state of California. As caregiver, my jobs consist of caring for the Alzheimer's/Dementia, Terminal Illnesses, Mobility Disabled, and Mental/Developmental Challenged; such as Autism, COPD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar populations. Besides been trained as caregiver/CNA, my training consisted of acknowledging and understanding HIPPA confidentiality, infection control, and CPR. All these trainings are very important while providing care for residents, patients, and clients. I am also required by state law to be a mandated reporter which means I must report any type of suspected or witnessed abuse.

You be the judge..... When looking for a new housekeeper, I asked Maria if she can clean for us once on Saturday, since we work during the week and I wanted to be home to show her around. We have an alarm that she would have to disable, a dog that needs to be warmed up to with cookies, and a code system for the door instead of a key. After the first Saturday she could come any time during the week. Here is her response: "My family depends on me and my budget to keep surviving so it would be so stupid of me to come clean a house, take something and get caught up in a big mess. I know you do not know me and I do not expect home owners to let me work while they are not there even if they have known me for years." I guess there goes this housekeeper...
