I'd describe my personality as amiable, open-minded and a bit introverted. I like tutoring because it's very rewarding to help someone understand not just the individual questions, but the underlying patterns that exist in that specific topic. I started tutoring when I was in one of my Astrophysics courses at UIUC and would help some of my classmates on homework problems. I would often go to office hours and help people for the entire time-slot, and I would frequently get comments to the effect of 'You should TA (Teachers Assistant) for the office hours, because you explained it better than the TAs did'. I understand that the TAs themselves weren't 'bad at teaching' per se, as they were graduate students doing office hours on the side, but it stuck out to me as something that was rewarding. In my spare time, I like to read either books or scientific articles, and when my brain gets tired I like to longboard when the weather allows it. My skills include Math, Physics, and English.
