About Maxie

I have been working with pre-k - school aged children for 10+ years in childcare and school based settings. On top of my work experience I am also a mother of two, both over 18 now! I recently moved to NY to be closer to family. Before moving to NY I was a full time nanny, medical care provider and part of the family to a wonderful family with 3 great kids, ages 9, 13, 15. I was with the family for over 3 years. I love using a play based model combined with literature when teaching. I have fun engaging children through storytelling, dancing and singing. I enjoy exploring the outdoors, animals and all the nature around us. I love to cook and feel it is very important to start teaching children to cook at a young age. Whether teaching a lesson or playing make believe I believe learning is happening all the time. Lastly, I believe communication is key to any relationship and that extends into my work as well. I look forward to discussing how I can be of best help to your family.
