About Maureen

My first job was working in a nursing home for 5 years. I worked in all wings, dementia, partial ambulatory then with men. Married and then had 4 boys. I was fortunate to stay at-home while raising them. PWhen my parents got older, my siblings & I dealt with everything that comes with the elderly. Dad passed first and mom was around for many years. Eventually, she started with dementia and then Alzheimer's toward the end. One learns how to communicate with them during those phases. I was with mom when she passed, making sure I had her favorite Irish or church songs playing to give her peace. There was no communication at that point, but I know it was comforting just being present.
