About Maureen

Hi there! I'm happy to help care for your kids, and to have fun as well as to help them to learn! I come from a big family, and I have over 10 years of sitting experience for many families, including three summers of full-time experience nannying for two different families of six children. I've been a teacher by profession in 8th grade math & English through college. Since high school I've tutored younger kids in math, reading writing, English grammar (a favorite!) and vocab, French, Latin, test prep, and piano. Beyond academics, I especially like to help kids learn crafts (and learn with them!)--baking/cooking, building and gardening (although I'm a newb), sewing/knitting/crochet, drawing, and do games and sports outside too. I'm eager to help get kids to get off screens and into learning and doing! Since I'm currently attempting a career pivot, I'd love to help out with sitting part- or full-time.
