About Maura

Hi! I homeschooled our three children from preschool through high school. Our oldest recently graduated from PU, our second child will soon graduate from Minnesota, and our youngest is a sophomore at BC. I enjoy helping children improve their skills and build their confidence. I especially want them to love learning, so that learning becomes a life-long competency. I'd describe my personality as warm, friendly yet serious when it's necessary. I like tutoring because often children struggle with anxiety about and insecurity in learning. I enjoy helping them see that they are perfectly capable. I started tutoring when I began homeschooling our children 20 years ago. In my spare time, I like to spend time with my family and friends, read and bike or walk. My skills include high proficiency in language arts. I have taught our children to be strong writers and analytical readers.
