About Maura

I have extensive and varied experience working with children. I had an internship on the pediatric unit at the Hospital for Special Care. After my internship, I continued my work on the unit as a volunteer, totaling about 135 hours. This gave me plenty of experience working with and caring for children, ranging from infants to teens, who had special needs and/or long term conditions. My responsibilities included spending time with the patients and keeping them entertained, holding the babies on the unit, and assisting nurses and CNAs with tasks, such as administering vaccines. I have also worked at a summer camp for the last two summers, where I'm in charge of anywhere between 6 and 12 children at a time. Ages range from preschoolers to teens, and they're in my care for about eight hours a day. I'm in charge of the camper's safety and running activities throughout the day. Activities included things like arts and crafts, sports, swimming, hikes, games, and more.
