About Mary

I'd describe my personality as caring, patient, and fun. I like working with kids because they give hope for the future. Their view of the world is refreshing and inspiring. I started working with kids when I was 12 years old, when I babysat for my neighbors across the street and earned $2/hour! I've always loved kids was a full time teacher for over 20 years. In my spare time, I like to run, hike, ride my bike, read, write, draw, and spend time with my family and friends. One thing you should know about me is that I speak Spanish. I started learning Spanish as a middle school student and continued studying it through college. I taught Spanish in high school as well. My skills include assisting with school work/activities, playing imaginative active games, and guiding kids to learn to take good care of themselves.
