About Mary

She was the reason my father was able to stay in his home, on his terms, for the final years of his life. Mary bought his groceries, made him breakfast and dinner, took him on short car trips to parks and local sights; and while he was mobile enough to do so, encouraged him to walk with her for exercise. She got him to his doctors’ appointments (and ably kept track of them), expertly set up his weekly medications , got him showered and shaved, and spent time talking with him and becoming a trusted friend. She stayed with him in the hospital during his illnesses, and I think helped to add at least a few years onto his long life with her expert wound care and knowledge of care for his chronic medical conditions. Her care delivery to him, and her care for him was exemplary. She treated him as I would like to have been treated if I were at his stage of life.
