First let me say, I love what I do. Nothing is more fulfilling than helping someone who perhaps once was powerful, and now feels powerless. For years I provided companionship, assistance and an emotional sounding board to a cancer survivor, who also had dementia. I helped coordinate her medicines, driving to/from doctor appointments, providing a willing ear for her to vent about her experience, and cooked, cleaned up and 'Tupperware' for the coming week. We played cards, went to the library, got her nails done, to the mall shopping, visited parks and a local lakefront, all to get her mind off of what she was going through & help her cope. HER SON SAID I WAS A LIFESAVER!! Just as a sideline to all of this information and for your peace of mind, I have also taken care of a number of other sweet seniors, and have multiple references for you to see. Thanks!
