About Mary

Mary was great with my 14 year old son. I hired her to drive him to school three days per week. The reason for my less than 5 star rating is that our arrangement ended badly. Mary needs a lot of flexibility because of her primary job. Totally understandable, and we accommodated last minute cancellations as needed. I cancelled once in the morning due to my son being unwell (she also had texted late the previous night that she was working very late and did not come to our house in the morning) but she still expected full payment for the day. I politely declined, as it didn't seem fair. She immediately quit with no notice and didn't show up the same morning that she quit. It's upsetting to be dropped without warning. I value honesty and fairness, and strongly believe people deserve payment for services provided. I would have been willing to pay a cancellation fee if she had been on the way, or had come to our house, but to my knowledge she didn't. Clearly she is too busy at her primary job to be working early mornings, and I understand that. I did not appreciate the lack of notice that she didn't want to continue, and was disappointed that she immediately quit over my objection to paying for a day she didn't work.
