About Marylou

Hello! My name is MaryLou and I am 20 years old. I have 1 year of experience as an Afterschool Teacher at a bilingual program. I worked with up to 6 students at a time in 2nd-4th grades. I am currently in my junior year of college at WCU pursuing a dual degree program in English and Education with a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL). Outside of childcare, I have experience as a cashier and pharmacy technician in a retail location from 2023 to 2025. I am always open to learning new things. I enjoy reading, arts and crafts, baking, and legos. I am CPR-certified and I have my own transportation. Two of my weaknesses are: I cannot swim and I'm terrible at card games. I am an empathetic person who knows how to communicate clearly, effectively and with compassion. Children tend to appreciate having a great listener and thrive when surrounded with academic vocabulary. I do not have experience with children younger than 6 but I am open to learning!
