About Mary

Mary is an ideal caregiver. She has an absolutely exceptional understanding of the medical, physical, and social aspects of caring for the aging. In addition, her heart, warmth, empathy, sense of humor, and zest for life mean she’s a gift for every family fortunate enough to work with her. In a medical crisis, she responds quickly and adeptly, with purpose and thought to the lived experience of the patient. She is able to extend enormous tolerance to her clients — always but especially when they lack the ability to treat her with courtesy and care. For example, my Mom’s Alzheimer’s meant she was by turns kind, warm, thoughtful, rude, inflammatory, and irrational. In any situation, Mary found a way to not only get through a tough moment but bring the client to a better, healthier state. And safety always came first. She has an extremely nuanced understanding of human nature and can readily see the essential good in people. We were so very fortunate to work with Mary, and to become her as a friend as well.
