Dear Family Member, I chose this profession as it gives me joy to work in the medical field caring for others. I worked for a cardiologist for 16 years as his cardiac technician, LPN until his retirement 2007. In 2008, I worked as a live in for a woman with Alzheimers, the last phase of her life, I worked side by side with hospice staff implementing quality of life until her passing in 2014. In 2015, through 2018, I worked respite care to relieve fellow home health aids of their duties to have relief from their shifts. Thereafter in 2018 through 2020, I transitioned into my second live-in position as caregiver for a male patient. Post pandemic, end of 2021 through the end of 2023, I worked as a non live-in companion caregiver for a fall risk, diabetic.
