About Mary

Hi! I'm Mary, a multi-subject tutor with 14 years of experience, from early childhood through high school. Experience: Vietnam: Grades 1-2 Math, English & Science • Taiwan: English, writing & academic skills, ages 7-17 • Oman: Grade 1 teacher; later Head of Early Childhood, leading 90 students & 13 teachers • Kyrgyzstan: Grade 2 Math, English & Science + Grade 7 English • Online: 6 years tutoring 20+ courses I designed across literature, writing, science, history & ESL Education: • Georgetown University, BA • Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine • Cambridge CELTA I think of every student as a little puzzle: what interests them, where are they stuck, and what will get them thinking? I use humor, discussion, games, visuals, and real-world examples to make hard things feel doable. I want students to question, explain, solve, and apply, not just memorize. The goal is for them to feel capable, think for themselves, know what to try when they get stuck, and gradually need less help from me.
