About Mary

Hi there! My name is Mary, and I am a 24-year-old St. Louis native seeking to establish a few steady relationships with local families for occasional, as-needed sitting & tutoring opportunities. In these prospects, I am seeking to expand both my work and personal experience by applying my "loves" of language and people in a practical manner--for example, by reading to your children, or by helping them with some of their language arts homework. I also love playing games with kids and seeing how their imaginations expand just by having fun. I believe in engaging kids' creativity in a variety of ways (especially beyond the gadgets world!)--for example, with story games, board games, outdoor games, coloring, and, frankly, anything we can dream up on the fly! I'm as comfortable playing princesses as I am super heroes, and I'm at ease around kids of all ages (I'm the oldest of six kids, so I'm extremely used to working with different creative styles). I have experience taking care of everyone from infants to teenagers, so I'm just as composed changing a diaper as I am bonding with a 7th grader about the pressures of middle school.
