Hi! My name is Mary, and I'm a 34-year-old St. Louis native who moved almost five years ago to pursue writing my historical fiction novel and getting into Notre Dame's MFA in Creative Writing program. I'm the oldest of six kids, so I pretty much grew up babysitting lots of little ones in one capacity or another, and I have over a decade of experience babysitting for families (especially using this platform!) outside of my own back in St. Louis, as well as here in South Bend. My favorite part of working with kids is getting to let loose with our imaginations, whether that's through reading, crafts, being silly running around outside, or talking about all the little dramas they're immersed in in their worlds. Overall, I love getting to see their unique little personalities emerge as we get to know one another better; they each have such worlds inside them, and I love nurturing that. I also have two nieces and two nephews who are my whole heart. Excited to meet y'all soon!

We hired Mary to care for our 6 month old and 2.5 year old daughters (technically just the 2.5 year old since she would be the only one awake) for our 7 year anniversary. We were so impressed with how she interacted with our little ones during the interview and how nurturing and caring she was. I was disappointed that despite confirming with her several days prior, she texted me several hours before our date to cancel because of lack of sleep throughout the week. I was annoyed, but agreed to reschedule for the following week. I was worried she wasn't going to come again, but she just ended up being about 10-15 minutes late. From what I could gather, she did a great job with our daughter, who can be a little rambunctious, but I hesitate about whether to hire her again because of the lack of dependability we've had.
