About Mary

I was an afterschool instructor for about 2 years, I also did the summer rising program. I focused on subjects like healthy living, art and STEM. I worked with grades k-5 assisting them with homework and created fun yet educational lesson plans that were able to be adjusted slightly to accommodate each age group. Ive taken all ages on field trips, including places like Luna Park in Coney Island! Keeping a fun and safe environment for the kids while maintaining order and attendence. Working in the after-school program was a highlight of my work experience! To make a difference in a small way everyday to any child who just needed a smile was enough to keep me going through the rough times as an instructor!
