I am a Nationally Certified Professional Tutor (NTA) and owner of Solid Foundations Tutoring. I have 30 years experience. I tutor writing, reading comprehension, fluency, grammar, vocabulary skills and math - elementary (Common Core and Traditional), Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, test taking skills for all grades including SAT and ACT. I incorporate time management and study skills at all levels.

I offer workshops with tips, resources, and ideas to help parents incorporate learning into every aspect of home life to constantly enrich their child's reading, spelling, and math skills. I offer basic math and reading classes for students and parents in the summer to catch up to grade level.

Martha has bee great with my son, he needed a little extra help with Algebra and he’s finally understanding it!  So happy we found her! 

Martha’s ability to assess and engage my children is exemplary. She makes learning fun and understandable. My you her daughter has ADHD and had some delays due to the pandemic and insufficient instructions. By working with Martha, she improved 200% in math and reading - far more than any other program we have tried.

My son has been virtual for 2 years now so getting him prepared to go back into in person school was a huge priority. He met with a few tutors previously who were nice but I didn't feel like he was actually accelerating. 

With Martha, it's very obvious she knows what she's doing. She supplies the materials and follows the school based curriculum so I know he'll be on track and prepared. And he's doing great! He's become more confident and even looks forward to reading with us. I've noticed he's also been reading street signs and restaurant menus. It's the small victories but they make such a difference! So glad she's his tutor!

I was struggling to juggle 3 children in virtual/hybrid situations.  She helped each child to understand their platform and how to manage their own assignments and manage their time.  She was a tremendous help boosting their writing skills so they could write their paragraphs/papers completely independently in a few months.  I enrolled in her math class for parents and learned all the basic math principles that allowed me to help my children with their math!  It was so great to be able to answer their math questions and explain the concepts - especially Common Core since I grew up with traditional math.  What a life saver!

She is dedicated and professional. She helped me with my college classes especially in writing. She is concerned with overall learning, not just passing a class.
