About Martha

I have worked with the elderly since my childhood itself. I use to spend a lot of time with my grandmother and that relationship was the start for me. At age 17 I became a nurses aide for one year. I recently am coming from India where I worked with an elderly woman over the past two years. Before that I worked in several jobs with elder citizens that are listed on my resume at care.com. Over the years of working as a caregiver I have learned a very important lesson about caring for the very young and very old. I feel that what extended families use to provide for their very young and very old has been lost. That is that the very young and very old can provide for each other in a very special way. I have seen the magic that happens between these two age groups and I am very keen in promoting it. They provide love and attention for each other that is beyond what you can even imagine. I have seen it happen time and time again if they are given the environment to let it happen. I have wonderful examples to tell about. I am interested in bring a better quality of life to elderly people. Mostly love, care attention and as much empathetic care as possible. I have lived in India for many years and one of the greatest misdeeds that they feel is to disrespect an elder person. "Karma" or whatever the belief system I believe it is really our future. The way we treat others today will be our destiny tomorrow.
