About Marlyse

Hello! I graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor's in Applied Psychology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. I just graduated with my Master's in Counseling. I am compassionate and kind. I am patient and love to work with kids and would gladly work with parents to help their children. I assisted with Excel, an ESL program for children this summer. I have taken care of two boys with Down Syndrome, ages 4 and 5. I helped them develop gross and fine motor skills needed as young boys. I fed them, played games, read books, watched learning shows, changed their diapers, and helped them wash/clean themselves. I assisted their mother with teaching her sons how to do chores and be more productive. I also helped her by listening and caring for her at that point of her life. I loved helping out at my church with 3rd and 4th grade children and teenagers. We had snack time, played games, had activities, and learning experiences. Also, I was an after school teacher for 1st graders at Side by Side.
