About Marlen

I have 13 years of experience working with children of all ages. Currently on summer break from my teaching job with 3yr olds. I've also worked as an academic tutor and a social-emotional learning skills educator working with kiddos from preK to 12th grade. I studied clinical mental health counseling in grad school and did a year and a half of counseling adults. I enjoy working with small humans because I appreciate experiencing moments alongside them. Whether it's watching a baby laugh at their own farts or sneezes or learning how to ask for help or self-soothe. It's refreshing to watch them experience the world around them. As a caretaker, I prefer to take an approach that borrows tenets from a Montessori perspective while still maintaining the structure parents prefer. With all my skills and experience, I'm able to provide a supervised, safe, and stable environment for your little ones. I look forward to enjoying this summer learning along your little ones!
