About Mark

Hello there! About 8 years ago, I became friends with a Japanese woman who had just moved here to the Washington, DC area. She hired me to tutor her daughters (then ages 7 and 9) in English. Watching those children learn how to confidently express themselves in English was deeply fulfilling for me. I loved the experience so much that I moved to Japan to teach English for almost six years. While I was in Tokyo, I was able to experience teaching children of all ages, from toddlers to high school students. I was also able to enjoy teaching many different aspects of English, from daily conversation and grammar to English literature and test prep. While there, I also earned the Trinity CertTESOL, a certificate in teaching English to non-native speakers. Now, I am looking to start a new career back here in the US, but I love tutoring too much to give it up. I can't wait to help more children and teens learn how to express themselves in English!
