About Markia

Hi there! My name is Markia, and I'm a recent Ithaca College graduate with a BFA in Musical Theatre. I bring creativity, energy, and extensive childcare experience to my work. I have nearly 10 years of babysitting experience, four years as a seasonal assistant teacher at Little Red Schoolhouse working with children ages 1 to 5, and experience with Quisisana Resort's Little Trebles daycare and babysitting program. I currently work at The Dance Factory in Lincoln as a Performing Arts Instructor and Musical Theatre Director, where I lead rehearsals, teach music, and organize activities. I'm comfortable taking initiative, leading groups, and creating fun, engaging experiences for children. I'm empathetic, dependable, and creative, and I enjoy incorporating music, movement, storytelling, and imaginative play into childcare. I'm comfortable caring for children ages 1 to 10 and hope to find a kind, consistent family that values communication, respect, and a trusted caregiver.
