About Mark

I am a recently retired math teacher with 25 years of classroom experience teaching middle and high school math, and 36 years in public education overall. Throughout my 8 years in Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD, my Algebra 1 students consistently achieved the district's highest on-level EOC scores year after year. I am especially successful in helping struggling students grow into confident problem-solvers, often bringing them up to the EOC Masters level. My strengths include breaking concepts down into clear, understandable steps, introducing challenging academic vocabulary and concepts in relatable ways, and working with patience and efficiency to maximize learning. I specialize in Algebra 1 and Algebra 1 EOC preparation, but I also tutor grades 6-8 math and Algebra 2. I prefer in-person tutoring but am also available for virtual sessions.
